PLACES TO EAT WHEN STAYING AY LA GERMAINIERE

Normandy is famous for its delicious food so do try to make at least one visit to a local restaurant to enjoy the delicious cuisine available in the area. The following restaurants are within easy reach of the farmhouses.

Restaurant Auberge de L’Abbaye Hambye

A really good restaurant and small hotel on the banks of the River Sienne. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and an interesting menu – including sea food such as lobster – so it is a good choice for special occasions or a relaxing evening out. There is a separate room leading off the main dining room for private parties.

Le Krill

Located in the pretty village of La Baleine where all of the meat and fish are cooked over an open wood fire in front of you. There is an outside terrace for alfresco dining.

Hotel Restaurant Le Fruitier / Restaurant l'Atelier

Villedieu Les Poeles - an excellent bistrot with an interesting varied menu open every day for lunch and supper.

La Cale

A real experience – Al fresco dining at its best with ramshackle tables and chairs virtually on the beach. Mussels, oysters, gigot of lamb cooked over the open fire. Tremendous.

Jules Gommes

Located in Reigneville sur Mer - set in an attractive village on a small estuary with boats and salt marshes. Serves excellent seafood, fish, steaks and crepes with seating on an outdoor verandah in the Summer.

Couleurs Saveurs

Located in Bricqueville sur Mer - a coastal restaurant with a lovely ambience. An interesting menu with fish and seafood which changes every month. There is an outside terrace in the summer. Very friendly atmosphere and highly recommended.

Manoir de L'Acherie

At Saint-Cecile near Villedieu les Poeles. Set in a beautiful C17th Norman manor house and chapel, the restaurant has great character and a very French ambiance. It serves traditional wood-fire cooked and regional cuisine using local products.

La Citadelle at Granville

One of many lovely seafood restaurants that look out onto the harbour front at Granville. It serves fresh fish and plateaux de fruits de mer and the grilled Chausey lobster is a speciality.

Full details of these and other restaurants in the area are available in the information book in the farmhouse.
