D-Day Beaches, Normandy

A touch of history

If you are interested in visiting the D-Day Beaches of Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword in this special 70th anniversary year, I'm sure the atmosphere will be even more poignant than usual.

The museums at Arromanches, Pegasus Bridge, Caen etc. or the cemeteries all bring back vivid memories of the War and June 6th 1944, when the Allied troops landed on French soil and Operation Overlord marked the beginning of the end of the Second World War.

I’m particulary proud as my father commanded a landing craft that brought troops in to Gold Beach and so we are hoping to get tickets to the special 70th Anniversary Celebrations in Normandy next year.

Our farmhouses are within easy reach of the beaches and museums.
