We welcome disabled guests and their assistance dogs to our beautiful accessible farmhouse Le Mesnil Gonfroy. It couldn’t be more staightforward travelling to France with your dog from the UK.

It is simple to get a Pet Passport for your dog as required by DEFRA:  take your animal to your local vet, who will give a rabies injection and chip the dog if necessary, and three weeks later a Pet Passport is issued. You can then book your assistance dog onto your ticket with Brittany Ferries or one of the other ferry companies, or with Eurotunnel. Your dog stays in the car during the Channel crossing.

You then only need to vist a French vet between 24 hours and five days before the return crossing, for a tapeworm injection and for them to sign the passport. The Channel crossing company will then check this entry and the dog’s chip at the port when you return. It couldn’t be easier!
