Welcome to our British owned and managed Normandy Farmhouses.
We live and farm in a very beautiful part of Dorset, and love being surrounded by natural countryside, both on holidays and in our daily lives. We have always loved France, so 11 years ago, encouraged by our children, we decided to buy a house in a picturesque, unspoilt part of Normandy, where we had spent family holidays before.
La Germainiere with its lovely peaceful setting was perfect for us, so we invested a lot of love and hard work in making it into a stunning holiday home for our family and friends. Then, one year we went to Australia and decided to let the house for the summer. It was a huge success and encouraged us to continue letting each year, and also to look for a second house nearby.
We are only able to have two houses because of our fantastic caretakers Thierry and Estelle, and their children Marine and Alain. They take such pride in both of our houses and gardens, and look after our guests so well.
We love this part of Normandy, and we know you will, too. It is still very “French” and feels far from the craziness of modern life, yet is so easy to get to – just 1.5 hours from the Channel ports of Caen and Cherbourg. One of our favourite things about the area is the wonderful fresh food: local fish, shellfish and beef and lamb reared on the lush Normandy grass. The area is famous for its cheeses, cider and calvados. The coast is just beautiful and offers fantastic swimming and walking less than 1/2 hour away.
We look forward to sharing this special part of the world with you and your family.
